A quick run down of the main trends this winter:
Duffel Coats
The coat of the season. Designers were so proud of their duffel fastening they let the toggles hang off undyed cord, making the style obvious to all. It also appeared on knitwear and bags too. It’s a great way to show you know the seasons changed. Duffel is definitely the signature this winter. And following the boyish style, the thinner the line, the better.
White Shirt
It’s the purest form of menswear, the immaculate white shirt, with the perfect collar cut to the right length. It’s perfect for daywear, and replaces the tie for a fashion statement. A white shirt, worn without adornment and unbuttoned high, sends a more alluring message than any skinny tie could. No one will be able to read you.
Quilting and Gilets
Quilting is in both as a practical solution in clothing and also as a silhouette-shifting trend idea. It provides bulk and exaggeration. On the gilet body warmers, it offers an urban solution to any suit. These gilets come in monochromatic tones without retro decoration.
Prints
Leopard print has come back out of nowhere and was found all over the designers catwalks this year, offering a style that will last till the end of the season. Geometric lines also appeared in high quality, bound to make a statement.
